Curriculum Vitae
Rudolf Markus Dünki
received his Masters Degree Diploma in Physics from the
Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich 1982 and his Ph.D. in
Biophysics 1986 from the Biocenter of the University of Basel. After working
a year on a database dictionnary for the Winterthur insurance company, he
got 1988 a fellowship of the Swiss National Science Foundation (NF).
He thus spent a year as a research fellow of the NF at the University of
Auckland (New Zealand), Psychiatry Dept, analysing EEG by means of
chaos-theoretic measures.
Upon returning to
Switzerland in 1990 he worked in the Research Dept. of the Psychiatric
University Hospital Zürich in
the area of multivariate statistical analysis. At the same time he was also
engaged
in the nonlinear dynamical analysis of psychopathological data at the University
of Bern.
1993 he started with the analysis of psychophysiological time series
as a member of the Computer Assisted Physics group (Head: Prof. P.F. Meier)
at the
University of Zürich in collaboration
with the Cantonal Psychiatric Clinic Rheinau (ZH) (Research Director:
Brigitte Ambühl, M.D.).
After breakdown of this project in 1998 he remained as a independent researcher
at the physics institute while also joining MEDInnovation IG, a spin-off group
involved in the development of medical safety devices. His main activities
are now in the field of non-life insurance mathematics at the Helvetia Patria
Insurance company, actuarial dept. In 2009 he completed a MSc in Statistics
at ETH Zürich and became a full member of the German Actuarial Association ("Aktuar DAV").
